Easter Creative Celebrations

Barton Hill’s Nursery and Reception led the way in this year’s Easter celebrations in the creative design of hats and bonnets. The magnificent array of “haute couture millinery” was constructed as homework, with considerable care and dedication from children, parents and carers.

Of course this fine work culminated in an Easter Parade where the “hat-maker helpers” were invited into the Key Stage One hall and treated to a medley of Easter songs, before assembling on the school lawn to witness the feast of creative colour, shape and style.

Head of Foundation Stage Mrs Alison Grimley paid tribute to all those involved by saying.

“The quality of both design and creation was outstanding. The thoughts, ideas and delicacy of the work involved were fantastic. I would like to pass a huge “well done” to all the children and a special “thank you” to all parents and carers who worked so tirelessly. We all had a fabulous time, and another big “thank you” goes to everyone in our community who turned out to enjoy our spectacle. Your support as always, is much appreciated, and is a major contribution to the success of school events such as these. On behalf of children and staff at Barton Hill Academy, we wish you all a Happy Easter.
